Wattle Park Chalet
backFrom the manager
Built in 1928 by master craftsmen using materials salvaged from historic public buildings, the Chalet is listed on both the Heritage Victoria and National Trust Registers. The Chalet has operated continuously since it opened and is thought to be the only café, dance hall, wedding reception venue, Christening venue and conference venue dating from the 1920s that remains operational in its original form. The surrounding parklands also have historical significance, including the Lone Pine tree near the Chalet which is included on the National Trust Significant Tree Register. Consequently, the Chalet and surrounding Wattle Park are important community assets and attract 500,000 visitors annually.
The Wattle Park Chalet offers a range of facilities suitable for celebrations, events and functions, and is a perfect venue for your wedding. Surrounded by 137 acres of parkland managed by Parks Victoria, the free-standing Tudor-style Chalet comprises approximately 220 square metres of function space comprising of the Grand Hall and adjacent loggia (enclosed terrace). A minimum of 200 car parking spaces are available.
