Monkerai School of Arts Hall was opened in 1888 and had an active life for many years as an early community library facility. After falling into disrepair, it was rebuilt with the aid of Bicentennial grant funding. It now serves as the safe repository of the Monkerai community's two treasured War Memorial Honour Boards and is available for hire as a public venue to the small, country community it serves.
