The name, Montreal, is an anagram of the name of local draper JJ Learmont who had the theatre designed and built in 1929 after spending many hours of research in various SyThe Community Centre was originally a dairy farm.
It was renovated in 2002 and became Chillingham Community Centre.
The extended verandas were later added as a feature of the building.
Chillingham Village Is a small timber and farming Community.
