Having been constructed in 1983 as Shire Hall and the Municipal Chambers the Benalla Town Hall is over 100 years old. It is situated in Nunn Street.

It is listed as heritage site and has undergone refurbishments such as air conditioning, painting, floor restoration and the furnishing from the Victorian Parliament as well as Philip Bacon’s(of Bacchantes) gift which is Julian Rossi Ashton’s painting. 

The hall has been transformed tremendously as a result of theses refurbishments. 

Its auditorium has a maximum capacity of 250 guests with the flexibility of being used for a wide range of events. With proper lighting and sound system, the hole, the decor is so adorable inside the hall.

The hall charges reasonable hire fees. It has been the Councils campaign to persuade the locals embrace the Town Hall as their preferred event venue. 

With its big auditorium, it hosts activities such as hard rock dances, dances of the old times, events for the youth, great weddings, presentations, formal balls, award ceremonies, and conferences, among others.
